Foot and Mouth Disease (FMD) is a very big challenge to the development of local meat and livestock industry. FMD is an economic threat as it is currently limiting the reach of Malaysian beef and beef products to the international market. In order to handle this NFC will employ a complete and integrated solution for the controlling, monitoring and eradicating FMD. The task includes:

• comprehensive Cattle Identification and Movement Traceability System which utilizes the latest RFID and mobile technologies (WiFi, 3G, GPRS, GSM)

• delivery and management of FMD vaccines and vaccination procedures

• development and maintenance of biosecurity and food safety integrity, management and training of veterinarians

• development of blueprint for FMD control and eradication
